🙃 Friday introduction—weird habit edition.
🙏 How often do we forget the power of prayer? Or think of it as a cop out to actually doing something?
💌 What do you think, invitation or challenge?🏆
✊ How often does this sum up your reaction to world news and current events? If I'm being honest, for me it's all. the. time. (shakes fists) "The vanity of the crowd. The vanity of the crrroooowd and their false teachings!"
🎉 How do you celebrate a feast like today? Remember we're celebrating ... not a person or an event, but an inanimate object. Kidding. The feast of the Chair of St. Peter is about the role of he who is occupying said chair and their RESPONSIBILITY.
✨ What's your most odd relic or religious artifact? I just got a reliquary for mine, finally!—it's a piece of the tongue of St. Anthony in an antique necklace pendant (on the left). Before today it was tucked in a leather pouch for too too many years. But now it's on full display glorifying God.
👼 Where do you put pictures of saints? Mine are everywhere. Like the Visionaries of Our Lady of Fatima—they're chillin under my bar cart with an autographed picture of Captain Jack Sparrow and a photo from our wedding among other things.
🙏The prayer of St. Ephrem captures the spirit of Lent to the tee. Every year I've made it part of my practices, I've loved it. You might like adding it to your prayer routine this season. If you do, let me know how it goes.
🌱 Verses like this make me wish I had a green thumb. If I did my house would be full of plants and flowers. They'd give me frequent opportunities to recall one of the many scriptures about planting, gardening, or horticulture in general. I love them because I think they get to the root of the depths and nuances of the spiritual life. Do you have a favorite scripture that references the wonderful world of plants?
